Home Racer 2025 | Practical skills to conquer cross functional projects

Cross-functional projects are always the ultimate challenge, but they also serve as a powerful launchpad for young talents in the Home Racer program to truly break through.
At Home Credit, these talents are not only empowered to take ownership of key projects that drive real-world impact, but they are also equipped with a solid foundation of technical and soft skills, alongside strategic guidance from the Leadership team.
Learning a skill is one thing; applying it to an actual project is a completely different story. Especially when collaborating with multiple departments simultaneously, how did our Home Racers utilize their training to overcome obstacles and bring everyone together?
👉 Let's discover what specific "skills" our 4 representative Team Leads from the Home Racer 2025 program applied to run their projects so effectively!

Wake-up Consent Optimizer (Stakeholder Management)
A collaborative project between the Online Platform and Big Data teams to "activate" user data consent through a new touchpoint on the HAPPY app, while expanding to Telco data consent. The goal is to enhance the completeness and accuracy of our big data.
However, activating consent via this new touchpoint required the Online and Big Data teams to be perfectly in sync. The biggest challenge for us was the technical language barrier between the two teams.
Thanks to the Win-Win mindset from our training and close guidance from our mentors, my team and I applied Stakeholder Management skills to translate data problems into shared business goals. As a result, departmental silos were broken down, and the data collection system now operates much more smoothly and optimally.

PowerBI Monitoring & Governance (Time & Task Management)
A project to build a centralized governance and monitoring mechanism for PowerBI reports, helping the business better control access rights, usage performance, and standardize data management. This solution increases transparency, improves user experience, and enhances the reliability of the reporting system.
Establishing a governance mechanism for a massive volume of PowerBI reports created a huge workload, which could easily overload the team.
Therefore, my team and I applied Time & Task Management skills from our training courses. I divided the project into short sprints and utilized a priority matrix. By focusing on extracting and standardizing raw data, and setting up monitoring systems for key KPIs, our team maintained the project's momentum to successfully build a transparent and reliable monitoring system.

Telesales Quality Control Enhancement (Agility & Problem Solving)
Integrating Speech-to-Text technology into our operations is a long journey, especially while the core model is still under construction. Given the nature of a tech project that is in its foundational and continuous optimization phase, agility and problem-solving skills empower our team to stay proactive rather than falling into a 'waiting' mode.
Adapting quickly to the current reality, we proactively shifted our focus to deep-dive and map out strategic components: from optimizing QC processes and identifying successful coaching patterns to conducting customer sentiment analysis. Continuously refining use cases and building visual demos perfectly bridges the gap between actual operational needs and technical solutions. This is how our team lays a solid foundation. Thanks to this proactive preparation, the moment the core technology is finalized, the system can be deployed immediately to automate quality control (QC) and personalize coaching, drastically minimizing the testing phase

HAPPY Repayment Improvement (Project Management)
This project focuses on enhancing the customer repayment experience by encouraging the use of the Home App (HAPPY) payment channel.
Improving the payment channel opened up a matrix of different approaches and solutions. Applying Project Management skills, our team chose not to execute everything but focused on finding the right solution. By proactively identifying and removing bottlenecks, I continuously balanced our solutions with the company's resources and timeline.
Simultaneously, maintaining transparent communication helped bridge gaps and ensure all stakeholders were aligned on the objectives. This allowed us to successfully deliver the project with optimal results without wasting resources.
