❓Hi Mr. Duc Ta, could you share a bit about yourself and the journey that led you to Home Credit?

💬 Hello to all Home Station readers! My name is Duc, and I’ve been a Software Developer at Home Credit for over three years now. My journey to Home Credit was quite serendipitous - a former colleague of mine introduced me to the opportunity. To be honest, I was a bit hesitant at first about working in the financial service industry, thinking it might be rigid or dry. But once I joined Home and experienced the environment firsthand, I realized it was not only professional but also incredibly open and supportive. The sense of connection and collaborative spirit here convinced me to stay long-term.

❓What do you think makes working in IT at Home Credit different from other places you’ve worked at?

💬 I think the most unique aspect is the “product owner” mindset. At Home, we’re encouraged not just to meet requirements but to actively contribute ideas and find creative solutions to make products better. Previously, when I worked in outsourcing, my role was mostly limited to fulfilling client requests, and it was hard to implement my own ideas or suggestions. At Home, however, my voice is heard, and I have the space to share my thoughts. This environment not only helps improve our products but also allows me to develop new skills along the way.

❓Can you tell us more about the Home PayLater product that you were part of developing?

💬Home PayLater is one of the projects I’m most proud of. It’s the first Buy Now, Pay Later product in Vietnam that integrated eKYC technology very early on. When I joined the project at the end of 2021, the IT team faced a major challenge: completing the product in just six months to launch on time. The entire team worked with intense focus and seamless collaboration to overcome obstacles. Now, Home PayLater has not only succeeded but also partnered with major players like Tiki, MWG, VietQR, and Be. It’s incredibly rewarding to see a product you’ve worked on provide safe, convenient digital financial solutions for customers.

❓How has IT at Home contributed to Home Credit’s position as a leading digital financial company in Vietnam?

💬IT at Home doesn’t just build systems - it plays a strategic role. For example, in the Home PayLater project, we worked closely with the Business team to understand market needs, listen to customer feedback, and continuously improve the product. Additionally, the IT team prioritizes developing flexible solutions that make it easy to scale products to multiple partners. This approach not only creates competitive advantages but also helps Home Credit maintain its position as a pioneer in digital finance.

❓How has Home Credit’s culture impacted your work and personal development?

💬To me, the culture at Home is quite open. Every idea, regardless of who it comes from, is valued and respected. The IT team frequently organizes knowledge-sharing sessions and bonding activities, which help everyone balance work and life. Programs like Homies Talk and courses on Udemy have been great for my growth, not just in technical skills but also in soft skills. Working with talented and passionate colleagues at Home is also a great opportunity to learn and improve myself every day.

❓Do you have any advice for young professionals looking for opportunities at Home Credit?

💬If you’re looking for a place where you can grow personally and professionally while creating real value for customers, Home Credit is an excellent choice. Here, you’ll work in an open environment where every idea is welcomed, and you’ll be encouraged to keep learning, innovating, and growing.
