Home Station – Stories of Sport and Team Spirit at Home Sport

In this edition of Home Station, Home Credit brings you the stories of determined individuals at Home Credit, where the spirit of sport and teamwork truly shines. Through every run and every match, Home members pushed their limits, not just for top positions but for the motivation and support they received from their teammates.

Let’s meet the standout sports representatives of Home Sport and hear their stories:

Mr. Son Nguyen - Field Payment Advisory Manager – Champion of Football Cup 2024 – Field Network Team

❓ Hello, Son! Congratulations to you and Field Network on successfully defending your championship cup at the 2024 Football Cup for the second consecutive year! As the team captain, could you share the secret to maintaining your team’s performance and winning spirit across both seasons?

🗨️ Son Nguyen: Thank you for celebrating with Field Network team, and hello to all Home Station readers.

Regarding the Football Cup and this year’s victory, my team and I are thrilled and proud to lift the trophy for the second year in a row. Our team’s success is not only rooted in tactics or skill but also in the strength of our unity and our determination in every match. Although our team includes members from various provinces who could only gather on the first day of the tournament, which limited our physical preparation, we focused on a common goal and supported one another to push forward.

❓ Did your team face any challenges this year? How did you and the Field Network team overcome the challenges to achieve victory, and what support did the leadership provide during the competition?

🗨️ Son Nguyen: This year’s tournament was indeed more challenging, as all teams improved their quality and trained harder. Some of our players had only just joined before the competition, so we didn’t have much time to practice together. Despite this, our determination and trust in our coach’s strategies allowed us to overcome these difficulties and maintain our spirit and performance. I would also like to thank Ms. Nguyet Bui (Head of Payment Advisory and Strategy) and Ms. Thuy Tran (Head of Legal Payment Advisory) for their consistent support. And a special thanks to Mr. Leos Gregor (Chief Risk Officer), who joined us on the field, boosting our team’s spirit and motivation this year.

❓ In your opinion, what’s the most crucial factor in building a strong, cohesive team? Could you share a memorable moment from this season?

🗨️ Son Nguyen: I believe that Field Network’s success over the past two years is built on five principles: Spirit, Connection, Motivation, Ambition, and Integrity. With an average age of about 35, we are the oldest team in the tournament, but everyone gives it their all on the field. One of our most memorable moments was the semifinal against FC Mien Dong team, a familiar rival from last year’s matchups. Their team was full of young, passionate players, constantly on the move, which led to some of our players suffering from injuries like muscle strains and cramps. It felt almost impossible to keep going, but in the last eight minutes of the game, we called a timeout to regroup and find the energy of men in the 18s. We managed to overcome FC Mien Dong and advance to the final. That moment truly showcased our team’s will and endurance.

❓ As a Home Credit employee, how do you feel about the company’s bonding activities, especially the sports-focused Home Sport series?

🗨️ Son Nguyen: I am truly proud to be part of such a meaningful initiative as Home Sport. It goes beyond sports to foster great unity and motivation for all Home Credit employees. The “Feeling Good” spirit that Home Credit spreads inspires positivity, not only in our work but also in our daily lives.

Once again, congratulations to the Field Network team at the Football Cup 2024, and thank you for sharing the inspiring stories from Home Sport 💖.

Mr. Vu Huynh – District Sales Manager – Top Runner of Home Sport - Run Challenge 2024

❓ Hello, Vu! Congratulations on running the most kilometers in Home Sport – Run Challenge 2024! Can you share why you love running and how you maintain your training routine?

🗨️ Vu Huynh: For me, running isn’t just about improving my health, it’s a way to train my willpower and push my personal limits. Each kilometer feels like conquering a new milestone. Every run brings its own “flavors”: the “saltiness” of exhaustion, the “sweetness” of reaching the finish line, the “sourness” of tackling long distances, and sometimes even the “bitterness” of injury. Facing these challenges has taught me how to handle external difficulties with a calmer mindset. This keeps me motivated to stick to my running routine, four times a week, every morning.

❓ With the Run Challenge 2024, what motivated you to achieve the impressive top spot with a total distance of 555.55 km in just 27 days? Does this number hold any special meaning for you?

🗨️ Vu Huynh: My biggest motivation came from my commitment to my teammates. As a leader, I wanted to show them that with determination and effort, anything is achievable - whether on the track or at work. The Home Sport - Run Challenge 2024 journey saw incredible effort, not just from me but also from fellow participants, and competition for the top rankings was intense, with the top three decided only on the final day. When I secured the top position, I wanted to mark this achievement with a meaningful number. To me, the number 5 symbolizes luck, blessings, and positive things 🍀, which is why I chose it as my total distance.

❓ As a Home Credit employee, how do you feel about the engagement activities, especially the Home Sport series? Do you have any special memories from this program?

🗨️ Vu Huynh: Home Sport is not only a meaningful team activity but has also helped me maintain the habit of waking up early and working out. This, in turn, boosts my physical health, mental clarity, and starts each day full of energy. These activities not only make my work and life more positive but also spark new ideas for my job.
While taking part in the Run Challenge, I kept in mind: to reach the top, when others walk, I keep running; when they rest, I stay persistent. On the same track, with determination and endurance, there’s always a chance to push ahead and go further—not just in running but in work as well.

Thank you for your inspiring words and story 💖.

Ms. Van Tran - POS Activation & Commission Assistant Manager – Top Female Runner of Home Sport - Run Challenge 2024

❓ Hello, Ms. Van! Congratulations on being the Top Female Runner in Home Sport – Run Challenge 2024! Could you share why you love running and what your training habits are like?

🗨️ Van Tran: Running or walking is simple and doesn’t require much equipment or special gear. The fun part of Home Sport is that you don’t need to run like a professional athlete; you can walk at your own pace.

❓ What motivated you to achieve the Top Female position in the 2024 Run Challenge, and as the only female in the overall Top 10?

🗨️ Van Tran: I've participated in many sports activities organized by Home Credit over the years, from Home Color and Home Run to Home Sport. I’m especially grateful to Ms. Doan, our Sales Admin Manager, who has encouraged and set goals for the whole team from day one, creating a strong sense of unity. This year, one teammate and I set a goal to reach the Top 5, motivating each other to keep up, even taking lunchtime walks. Eventually, a third teammate was inspired to join us, and in the end, all three of us made it into the Top 10 female rankings. It really shows that when you pursue a goal together, having others to spur you on can make all the difference.

For me personally, this result wasn’t about being the fastest or strongest but about persistence, commitment to the goal, and the support of my team. Although we women might not cover as much distance as our male counterparts in a single run, we make up for it by walking steadily wherever we can—from the market, supermarket, to lunchtime walks, capturing every kilometer along the way.

❓ As a Home Credit employee, how do you feel about the company’s engagement activities, especially the Home Sport event? Any special memories from this journey?

🗨️ Van Tran: I’m proud to work in a place with so many engagement activities and am always eager to participate. The Home Sport series not only helps Home Credit employees improve their health and discipline but also creates unforgettable memories. During the nearly month-long Run Challenge, I got into the habit of waking up early to walk. Even while on a busy work trip to Nha Trang, I kept up with my 15-km daily target. On the last day of the challenge, despite dealing with an eye infection and a bit of rain, I was determined to walk and secure my Top Female position. It was a challenging yet deeply meaningful experience.

What an inspiring journey of determination! Thank you for sharing your sports spirit in this Home Station 💖.
