SUCCESS IS CREATED TOGETHER

From Home Racer to a Journey of Growth with HomeX

"It was a very meaningful beginning because I had the opportunity to become part of two great 'homes.'

The first was Home Racer 2022, where I built my initial foundations and connected with colleagues from many different departments. The second was HomeX, where I have worked, grown, and contributed throughout the past four years."

In my role of ensuring product quality, I have had the chance to participate in various projects and collaborate with different teams. What I value most is the spirit of partnership and support. Every successful project is the result of contributions from many individuals and teams. The experiences of learning together, overcoming challenges together, and creating value together have made my journey at Home Credit truly meaningful and memorable.

When Success Becomes a Collective Journey

Through your experiences working on cross-functional projects and the achievements you have accomplished together, what does Shared Success mean to you?

I believe that when one person succeeds, the whole team shares that pride. And when the team succeeds, every member gains new opportunities to learn and grow. To me, Shared Success is not just about achieving goals together. It is about supporting, sharing, and growing alongside one another throughout the journey.

During the Home Racer Program, I had the opportunity to work with colleagues from different departments and diverse professional backgrounds. We collaborated to solve a common challenge, and through that experience, I realized that everyone brings unique perspectives, experiences, and strengths. Only by listening, respecting differences, and working together can we achieve the best outcomes.

At Home Credit, I genuinely feel that people are always willing to support one another, not only at work but also in life.

The Power of Unity

Throughout your journey, what moment has made you most proud of your team's collaboration, partnership, and Shared Success spirit?

For me, it is the journey from Home Racer to HomeX. Home Racer taught me the value of collective connection, while HomeX has given me the opportunity to experience that value every single day.

Throughout the development of the HomeX product, I have witnessed countless occasions where teams came together to overcome challenges and achieve common goals. There were times when we needed to launch new features within tight timelines or quickly resolve issues affecting the sales experience. Instead of working in silos, everyone was willing to support one another, share expertise, explore solutions, and take collective ownership of the outcomes.

What makes me most proud is not a specific project or achievement, but being part of a team that continuously trusts, supports, and grows together. That spirit ultimately creates better results for customers, the business, and every individual pursuing their own growth journey at Home Credit.

Shared Success Begins with Small Actions

In your opinion, what can each individual do to contribute to the collective success of the team?

To me, shared success starts with small actions every day. It can be proactively sharing knowledge with colleagues, offering help when others encounter difficulties, being open to different perspectives, or simply taking responsibility for your own work.

When every individual thinks not only about their own responsibilities but also about the team's shared goals, we create a positive workplace where everyone can grow and succeed together.

Through my journey at Home Credit, I have become even more convinced that sustainable success does not come from the efforts of one exceptional individual. It comes from a team that consistently supports, trusts, and develops together. That is the true spirit of Shared Success that I am fortunate to experience every day at Home Credit.

BREAKING THROUGH WITH AN EMBRACE INNOVATION MINDSET

Nam Pham, UW System Analyst

ENG 2

From Home Racer to Making a Difference

As a Home Racer 2024 participant, Nam currently works in the UW System Team under the UW Strategy Department. The team is responsible for building, managing, and continuously improving the automated underwriting systems that support the company's credit assessment process.

"To ensure our systems operate reliably, maintain high quality, and reduce deployment time, our team is constantly looking for new ways of working and gradually automating more stages of the process. I am incredibly proud to represent the team in receiving this Home Choice Award.

For me, this recognition is not only for my individual contributions but also for a team that consistently encourages every member to explore, experiment, and develop innovative solutions."

Innovation Means Constantly Seeking Better Ways

Among your continuous efforts to improve and innovate, which initiative has impressed you the most?

Since my time as a Home Racer, I have developed a habit of observing the team's daily tasks and asking myself whether there might be a simpler and more effective way to do them.

One area I identified for improvement was the documentation process for deployment changes. For large deployments involving extensive updates and complex modifications, completing the required documentation could take more than 45 minutes.

This inspired me to automate the process by developing a tool that assists in generating deployment documentation. As a result, the time required was reduced from over 45 minutes to approximately 5 minutes.

What makes me most proud is that the solution did not remain just an idea or an experiment. The tool continues to be actively used and delivers lasting value to the team by significantly reducing the time spent on routine tasks.

Moreover, by developing the solution internally, the team has been able to avoid potential costs associated with building or sourcing a similar tool elsewhere.

When Innovation Becomes a Team Mindset

While turning your ideas into reality, what was the biggest challenge you faced, and how did you overcome it?

For me, the biggest challenge was time.

Daily responsibilities and performance objectives already take up most of our schedules. Meanwhile, every new idea comes with uncertainty. There may be obstacles, unexpected delays, or even the possibility of failure. Committing time to pursue an idea often requires making trade-offs. Spending too much effort on an idea that may not succeed could impact other priorities.

Fortunately, I received strong support and trust from my teammates. They encouraged me, backed my efforts, and even allocated dedicated time during deployment cycles for experimenting with and developing new ideas. That trust helped me overcome the challenge and transform early concepts into practical solutions.

To me, innovation is not just about one person having a great idea. It requires a team that is willing to create opportunities, embrace experimentation, and learn together from both successes and failures.

Dare to Step Outside Your Comfort Zone

In your opinion, what is the most important factor in cultivating an Embrace Innovation mindset in everyday work?

The most important thing is overcoming the fear of change.

When we become comfortable with a certain way of working, it is easy to think, "Everything is working fine. Why change it?" However, just because a process produces results does not mean it is the best possible approach.

Rather than staying within my comfort zone, I choose to experiment with new ideas on a small scale. Every experiment creates an opportunity to learn and discover a more effective way of working. A different perspective may reveal opportunities for improvement that we had never considered before.

This willingness to learn, challenge myself, and step outside my comfort zone has continuously motivated me to grow. To me, innovation does not always begin with a big idea. Sometimes, it starts with a simple question: "Is there a better way to do this?"
