"Roar Together - Transform Together": Mai Vo

🙌 Let's listen to the sharing of Ms. Ngoc-Mai Vo - Business Process Manager about her journey of "transformation" over the course of 15 months that she has been working in the consumer finance industry at Home Credit.

💬 Ms. Mai, joining Home, you also joined the consumer finance industry for the first time. What made you choose Home then?

In my previous companies, I did consulting and managed many scopes of work across many industries At Home Credit, I specialize in just one industry and focus on the result of project implementation. My favorite aspect is that everything is solution-oriented, solving specific problems with tangible outcomes. You can clearly see the results from your recommendations and plannings.

💬 What were your challenges when changing jobs and how did you overcome them?

When I joined Home Credit, I was unfamiliar with almost everything such as the new environment, new industry, new domain knowledge, new departmental structure, and the high expectations from the leadership team. However, the working environment at Home encouraged and enabled my better version. Leadership team understood that I was new to the industry, so they patiently guided and supported me.

In addition, other colleagues were quite open and transparent. When I asked meaningful questions, they didn't hesitate to answer. When I made an incorrect decision, they gave me advice and suggestions so that I can handle it better the next time. In general, the environment and people here helped me to understand the industry better, learn faster, and do more.

💬 Do you have anything you want to say to those who are interested in working in the finance industry or at Home Credit?

First, I think this industry is very interesting, which sees constant innovation while under strict regulations. We need to be creative and stay compliant simultaneously. So there's a lot to learn. In particular, the consumer finance industry is being evaluated as an attractive market in developing countries like Vietnam. Surely you will learn a lot, do a lot, and develop a lot.

Secondly, in terms of the working environment at Home, you also have the opportunity to work with colleagues in different departments and international colleagues when running projects. Your voice is heard and considered in the team action plan. One more relevant upside: Near the office, there are many stunning wine bars and craft beer places😊

💬 Regarding Home Credit's Best Employee Award you won in 2021, please share your feelings with us.

I am happy that my leaders recognized the efforts of me and my team members. We have gone through a long period of remote working with smooth teamwork, maintaining high productivity. To my team members, thank you so much.
