EMPLOYEE STORY | HOW I MET MY HOME CREDIT

🙌 Let’s discover how Hoi Le's journey with the Fresh Program, Future Analyst Program 2020 has shaped him into a Data Analyst as well as the stories when he was recognized for being one of 32 DNA Stars of Quarter 1, 2022.

💬 What brought you to the Future Analyst Program in 2020, and what do you miss the most about it?

I'm actually a mechanical engineer, not a software engineer. With a degree in hand, at that time, Data Analysis was already a phenomenon. Because I'm naturally curious and like a genuine challenge, I decided to try something new and ended myself in Home Credit's Future Analyst Program accidentally. I'm still delighted that I made this wise choice.

💬 What stayed with you for a long time after you participated in our Fresh Program?

1️⃣ The first impression is an onboarding workshop. I gained a deeper grasp of how an international financial firm like Home Credit operates, as well as the specialized work done by each department.

2️⃣ It's clear that the manager truly cares about both the team's needs and the direction I want to take to achieve that balance. He also set the stage for me to do things that are "out of scope" and pushed me to try new technologies to assist the team to accomplish our goals.

3️⃣ Finally, Home Credit is a great place to learn and grow. At Home, everyone can freely share their work, regardless of position, and the leadership is extremely friendly and always listens to the thoughts and ideas of their employees. That's what I really admire and appreciate the most.

💬 What would you do differently if you could go back in time and make changes to yourself?

For a technical student like myself, developing soft skills like effective communication and time management will be one of my priorities if a miracle happens.

💻 Learning SQL and the Python programming language can help you get familiar with more sophisticated systems alongside improving your ability to think critically and solve problems in the future if you're interested in data analysis.

💬 Now that we're back in the present, congrats on being recognized as one of the 32 DNA Stars Q1/2022, could you share something about that.

Aside from helping departments export familiar data reports, our team also helps them develop internal websites where they can easily access data. As a result of the issues they experienced, I used all available resources to develop basic mobile applications to enable other teams to manage more successfully instead of doing it on paper.

🤗 Because of my everyday efforts and small innovations at work, I was awarded DNA Stars Quarter 1 this year. I'd want to spread the positive energy by sharing my favorite quote from my manager with others: "I'm not afraid of being wrong, only worried that I haven't tried."

It was a pleasure to have Mr. Hoi share his energy and understanding with everyone, especially the aspiring Data Analysts.
