EMPLOYEE STORY | 13-YEAR JOURNEY FROM IT CONTACT CENTER TO HEAD OF IT OPERATIONS AT HOME CREDIT

Let's meet one of the Home family's big brothers, Mr. Hung Nguyen, and listen to his 13-year journey "Unleash the Tiger" with Home Credit Vietnam! 

💬 Hello Mr. Hung. Can you share your journey with Home and one of your career milestones here? 

I started working here as an IT Contact Center Engineer and had a chance to participate in a critical project: Developing a new system for Collection Team and Telesales Team. That was a time of technological innovation, it was also technological innovation. Instead of manually dialing the numbers, the system will automatically call our customers. Only when the customer picks up the phone will a new signal be sent back to the operator. Then they are connected. The project excels in many aspects. In terms of technical operation, the old system was hardware-based. Any upgrade needs new hardware, which is very time-consuming. In comparison, the new system was software-based. We can install and run the software on the server more easily. In terms of financial efficiency, after nearly six months, the system returned all investment capital for the project.  

💬 What motivates you to go with Home for 13 years? 

It's a new challenge. Despite starting from the contact center, I got the chance to work with hardware, network, and database ... to accumulate my expertise. At the same time, I could also improve my management skills when becoming the leader of more members. So I think Home gives me a lot of exciting work and opportunities to take. 

For example, suppose you work as a contact center in a small company with 30-40 agents. In that case, resources are more limited, and you will hardly develop massive and impactful systems for the customers like the ones at Home. 

💬  Regarding the IT Contact Center Engineer position receiving a lot of attention from Home Credit's talent incubation program - Home Racer, do you have any message for young people who want to apply? 

As I mentioned, only large-scale companies have this position, so some of you may be unfamiliar with it. But don't worry, this position will give you two significant advantages. The first is technical knowledge. You will learn a lot when working on projects related to the trend of AI applicating - Voicebot and Chatbot. The second is business mindset development. You will work continuously with management levels from Collection, Telesales, etc., receive requests from them, and discuss with them to find solutions for improving the organization's operating results. Then your business mindset will take shape and be sharpened. Those are the takeaways no school can teach you in 1 or 2 days.
