Hello everyone, I'm Phuc Huynh, a Software Test Engineer at the EIT Department of Home Credit Vietnam, and I am also a Home Racer 2023 🚀. Join me as we explore some secrets of the Home Credit IT Department and how Home is applying technology to its operations. I’ll also share some stories about the Home Racer Program below 😆.

⭐ Technology Makes Home Credit Stand Out ⭐

Currently, I am responsible for Quality Control (QC) for Home Credit’s application – Home App (also known as HAPPY). To me, Home Credit is one of the leading financial companies in integrating offline products into the Home App, providing our existing and potential customers with a diverse range of options and products for optimal use. Compared to other financial apps, Home Credit offers more choices in products and services. Customers can now complete loan applications and get approval directly on HAPPY without the need for traditional paperwork. These features have helped Home App and Home Credit stand out significantly in the market.

Moreover, Home Credit, specifically our IT Division, continuously evolves by delivering new features to users. Our goal is not just to improve quarterly or monthly but to release updates every two weeks, providing fresh features to our users.

📈 A High-Quality In-House IT Team Willing to Challenge Limits

Home Credit boasts an experienced IT team that is always ready to embrace challenges and provide meaningful solutions for customers and other departments, aiming to deliver the best experience while optimizing costs for the company. The IT Division at Home does not rely on outsourced products but strives to build our own tools to support company operations. Similarly, our QC team focuses on optimizing, improving, and developing Home Credit’s frameworks rather than using external solutions.

Different departments have varying needs from the IT Division, and to meet these needs, we must continuously innovate with new solutions. With a goal of ongoing development and expansion, Home Credit is broadening our partner network and developing solutions to support partners in the registration process and in providing Home Credit’s products.

💡 At Home, I developed my skills, enhanced collaboration, and took ownership

Most of my team members are experienced experts who are always ready to share and support throughout my time at Home Credit. Not only have I received support from QC colleagues, but also from Devs and POs (Product Owners), which has helped me develop technically and enhance collaboration in my work.

Previously, working in an outsourcing company, my focus was mainly on meeting deadlines and functional requirements for individual features. Now, working directly with various departments and POs, and interacting with customers, I need to understand their needs, the significance of my tasks, and how to approach testing from the user's perspective to improve and deliver the best experience. During testing, I not only work independently but also communicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure the quality of HAPPY. Over time at Home Credit, I have seen significant growth in my skills, work methods, and especially in collaboration.

Home Credit offers numerous opportunities and a great environment for development and continuous challenges. At Home, I am empowered to take ownership of my work, explore various opportunities, and am encouraged to propose ideas and contribute to the company. Home Credit has provided me with truly wonderful and valuable experiences!

🚀 Home Racer Program – A perfect launchpad for Young Talents

My connection to Home Credit began with the Home Racer Program 2023. When applying for IT positions at Home, most required at least a Mid to Senior level, so Home Racer was my only opportunity at that time (as I had just graduated with limited experience 😊). Additionally, I was excited to join a program for young talent as it offered the chance to gain experience and enhance soft skills. When the opportunity came, I decided to take the challenge 🚀. At EIT, I was the first Fresher level member recruited through the Home Racer Program.

The most enjoyable aspect of the program was the opportunity to connect with peers from different backgrounds and departments. Initially, it was a bit challenging to find common ground, but through the activities in the Home Racer Program, we gradually found common points and interests. This helped me and other Home Racers get to know each other and better understand each other's roles. We were also assigned to cross-functional project teams, which provided valuable experience in soft skills, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the company and the work of colleagues in different departments (Tech, Data, Product).

Another advantage is that the program has clear milestones, specific requirements, and during my work with the line manager, we discussed what Home Racers needed to meet. This support and guidance helped me understand the steps required to complete and excel in my role.

In summary, the experiences gained from the Home Racer Program have provided me with valuable experience, making it a great stepping stone for my future journey.

Home Racer 2024 Program is coming back, and applications are open until July 31, 2024. Don't hesitate to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. I look forward to seeing you at Home Credit soon 💓. See you at Home.
