"Roar Together – Transform Together" series: Ms. Thanh Vo

Let April kick-start with a new theme “Roar Together – Transform Together”* by getting to know one of the transformation projects at Home. We'd like to introduce you to Ms. Thanh Vo, a Home Credit's Product Owner, who will talk about the product project she and her team are working on and the story behind its development.

I am Thanh Vo – a Product Owner (PO) at Online Team. Our team and more than 15 Agile teams from around Europe and Asia are working together to build a centralized digital finance solution focusing on 4 Asian countries including India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

💬 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞?
I serve as a Country Product Owner (Online) and my responsibilities revolve around:
🙌 Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders, PO, and delivery teams to align company objectives and product functional requirements.
🙌 Working closely with all delivery teams on daily basis to attain the high quality of product delivery for Vietnam’s mobile app.
🙌 Collaborating with Product Managers, Digital Transformation, and other departments to ensure that the product brings value to its customers and users to the company.

💬 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝?
🕑 A difference in working time zone: Home Credit is an international enterprise, thus the working hour variation between teams in different locations is inevitable. With just a few hours of the same working time each day, we must work together to find the most efficient approach to resolve issues.
🗺 Differences in business cultures: Each country has its unique working culture and market features, which results in varied processes and approaches to target customers for businesses. This hinders product development when it comes to the applicable design features for all countries.

💬 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬?
⭐ A more transparent working environment is achieved by adopting the Agile model and the flexibility in the product backlog. There are also daily catch-ups in which issues are brought to the attention of the teams, in addition to weekly meetings.
⭐ You'll get all the help you need from relevant stakeholders. During the development of this project's roadmap and backlog, there were cross-functional collaborations among Sales, Product, Risk, Legal, IT, Collections, Cards, and many more.
⭐There is a monthly Discovery Workshop where everyone can exchange ideas and lessons learned, allowing them to apply what they've learned to their own countries the most efficiently.
